Ted Peñaflor IV (b. 1978) is a visual artist whose body of work comprises paintings with feel-good, light surreal scenes with his usual subject—family and clouds. Before going full time as a visual artist, Ted worked for 15 years as a background artist for TOEI Animation Phil. Inc. and contributed on big projects like One Piece. One Piece had a lot of clouds in every episode and it’s where his consistent use of clouds originated. Clouds allowed Ted to ponder on positive narratives and encouraged him to look up and be optimistic. He won the grand prize for Metrobank YPA in 2003, now known as MADE. Ted completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of the East.
