PAULU BRUSELAS

Paulu Bruselas for Arts Talk PH

Paulu Bruselas (b. 1987) is a visual artist and a historian of early silent cinema who enjoys themes of nostalgia and wistfulness. His body of work comprises vivid playful watercolor paintings of vignettes — visual experiments heavily influenced by the years 1900-1920. Paulu wishes to capture imprecise moments through precise line improvisation, color selection, and application. A different sense of time permeates his work, one that tries to always be with the past, where lines and colors are clocks for seeing. When he is not working on his art and academic pursuits, Paulu can be found writing poetry. His published work can be found in the “Sustaining the Archipelago: An Anthology of Philippine Ecopoetry.”
