Mara Fabella (b. 1992) is a visual artist who uses collage to create new visual narratives out of image cut-outs from magazines. Her pieces on canvas display a mixture of disparate elements that form a surreal yet cohesive story. She links her art to her love of tales, having been an avid reader of speculative fiction novels since she was a child. To complement her artistic practice, Mara also writes about art, writing exhibit reviews for both Mantle Magazine and Art Plus Magazine, and winning contests held by Leon Gallery and the Filipinas Heritage Library. She studied Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines Diliman, majoring in Painting and earning magna cum laude honors.
