Karren Lopez (b. 1984) is a visual artist whose body of candy-colored abstract paintings is influenced by dreams, music, and her regular trips to Japan. In her paintings, she attempts to make perceptible representations of what dreams can be— intangible, hazy, and sometimes ethereal. Her creative process includes visualizing dreams, listening to her favorite 90’s alternative music, and then allowing the song to set the mood and influence her work. When she is not wearing her artist hat, Karren works in the treasury for RCBC.
