She is constantly inspired by the stories of the people she meets every day and although the inspiration can be melancholy, the use of bright colors in her pieces delivers an appeal of fun and vibrancy. Elie studied Fashion Design at the Arts Institute of Vancouver and worked in the airline and fashion industry in the Middle East for over a decade before returning to her homeland. When she’s not painting in her studio, she runs her sustainable fashion label Unwasted with the company of her cat, Nermal.
