Security Blankets is Ireland Jill’s Cognitive Dissonance piece and her first sculpture for Arts Talk PH. Using her signature style of featuring children with big curious eyes in all of her canvas pieces, Ireland created a new character named Bruha. A security blanket is something a child holds for comfort, in a similar context, a security blanket here also allows for having the assurance that it is safe to look deep inside oneself, examine and then accept or change one’s real views and ideals.
“Bringing one of my characters to life in 3D is something I’ve been working on lately and this particular piece is special, One of my art explorations during the quarantine.”
